Helen Epstein is Visiting Professor of Human Rights and Global Public Health at Bard College.  She is the author of Another Fine Mess: America, Uganda and the War on Terror (Columbia Global Reports 2017) and The Invisible Cure: Why We Are Losing the Fight against AIDS in Africa (Picador 2008). She has served as a consultant for numerous organizations including UNICEF, the World Bank, and Human Rights Watch.  Her articles have appeared in The New York Review of Books, The New York Times Magazine, the Guardian, the Nation, The New Yorker online, and many other publications.
