Brian Dillon was born in Dublin in 1969. His books include AffinitiesSuppose a Sentence, and Essayism (all published by New York Review Books), as well as The Great Explosion (short-listed for the Ondaatje Prize), Objects in This MirrorI Am Sitting in a RoomSanctuaryTormented Hope: Nine Hypochondriac Lives (short-listed for the Wellcome Book Prize), and In the Dark Room, which won the Irish Book Award for nonfiction. His writing has appeared in The GuardianThe New York Times, the London Review of BooksThe New YorkerThe New York Review of Booksfrieze, and Artforum. He has curated exhibitions for the Tate and Hayward galleries. He lives in London.
