N. M. Danish

N. M. Danish (Noor Mohammad Danish) is a Pakistani poet of African and Baloch descent. He was born in Karachi's Lyari neighborhood, the center of Baloch politics and culture in the city. He helped found the Lyari Naujawaan Tehreek (Lyari Youth Movement) and later served as the head of the Baloch Student Organization-Awami. In addition to poetry, he writes literary criticism, much of it published in leading Urdu literary journals. He also goes by the pen name Noon Meem Danish. He lives in Connecticut.
