Diane and Leo Dillon
Born in Greater Los Angeles,
Diane Dillon is an illustrator who worked primarily with her husband,
Leo Dillon (1933–2012), an illustrator of Trinidadian descent. Together, they illustrated more than forty picture books for children and more than thirty chapter books for children and novels for adults, as well as many speculative fiction magazine covers. The Dillons were awarded the 1971 Hugo Award for Best Professional Artist and won the Caldecott Medal twice, in 1976 and 1977, the only consecutive awards of the honor to the same illustrator. Diane Dillon lives in New York.
