Collection: Charlotte Mandell

Charlotte Mandell has translated more than forty books, including works by Maurice Blanchot, Jean Genet, and Jean-Luc Nancy. Her translation of Mathias Énard’s Compass was shortlisted for the Man Booker International Prize in 2017 and received the National Translation Award in 2018. Her translation of previously unpublished short stories by Proust, The Mysterious Correspondent and Other Stories, is forthcoming. She is currently working on a new translation of Monsieur Teste by Paul Valéry for NYRB Classics, and lives in the Hudson Valley with her husband, the poet Robert Kelly.
