Rabindranath Tagore

Rabrindranath Tagore (1861–1941) was a Bengali poet, novelist, painter, and composer. The son of the religious reformer Debendranath Tagore, he began writing at an early age, and pursued studies in England in the late 1870s before returning to India. In 1913, he became the first non-European to be awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature.
