Gwendoline Riley—author of My Phantoms (2022), First Love (2022), and, most recently, The Palm House (2026), all published by NYRB—is one of eight winners of the 2026 Windham-Campbell prize. Winners receive $175k, with the goal of enabling outstanding writers to work without financial constraints.
