Philip Roth and Hayim Nahman Bialik are some of the most celebrated writers in contemporary Jewish literature. On Monday, November 10, MacArthur-winning poet-translator Peter Cole, who introduced and translated Bialik's poetry in On the Slaughter (NYRB Poets, 2025), joins Steven J. Zipperstein, author of the recent biography Philip Roth: Stung by Life, for a conversation hosted by YIVO Institute for Jewish Research.
