The Alan Cheuse International Writers Center at George Mason University invites you to Let's Talk, a two-day celebration of literature in translation on September 29th and 30th with readings, panels, and presentations from dozens of authors and translators.
Day one of the festival, Let's Talk: International Writers Festival, begins at 5:30 PM at Busboys and Poets Books in Washington, D.C. Among the visiting writers is MacArthur-winning poet and translator Peter Cole, who introduced and translated the poetry of the great Hebrew poet Hayim Nahman Bialik in On the Slaughter (NYRB Poets, 2025). At 7, Cole speaks second in the lineup, presenting his translations of Bialik and others.
