The Mahindra Humanities Center at Harvard University hosts Diane Williams, “the godmother of flash fiction" (The Paris Review), for a reading and discussion of her new book I Liked Rex, a collection of thirty-six cunning, captivating short stories about the mysteries of life and the human heart, out now from NYRB Classics.
Williams will be joined in conversation by Maggie Doherty. She is a Visiting Lecturer on English at Harvard University. She is the author of The Equivalents: A Story of Art, Female Friendship, and Liberation in the 1960s (2020). Her writing has appeared in the New Yorker, the New York Review of Books, the New York Times, and the Nation, among other publications.
